A railway station with more than 100-year history in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, completed upgrading and will open on Tuesday, beginning to receive passengers again, according to the China State Railway Group, the national railway operator, on Monday.

The Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, also known as Tangxi Railway Station, was built in 1916. It is an important station linking several major railway routes, including the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway and Guangzhou-Maoming Railway.

After upgrading, the station has 21 departure and arrival tracks and 21 platforms for passenger service, respectively. The station has seven floors, including three floors above ground and four floors below ground.

It includes a commercial floor filled with retail stores, a waiting floor, a floor for parking, and the bottom floor linking with the city's metro system, forming a comprehensive transportation hub with convenient and efficient transfer.

Since the reopening, the station will receive some traffic pressure from Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station, benefiting people's travel.
