Three former CPC discipline inspectors - Ji Tao, Zhang Qiubo and Yang Chunlei - have been expelled from the Communist Party of China for violating discipline, with Xu Hong being placed under investigation, according to China's top anti-corruption watchdog on Friday.

The information has been disclosed by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision in statements online.

Ji, who worked for an inspection team in Chongqing, was found to have severely violated the Party's discipline by accepting large sums of money after seeking profits for others in job promotion and project contracting, and for personal gains, the statements said.

The disciplinary violations of Zhang, who worked for an inspection team in Liaoning province, included illegally accepting gifts or banquets, seeking profits for others in job promotion and illegally serving as positions in enterprises after retirement, the statements said.

While being removed from the Party, Yang Chunlei, who worked for the inspection team at the China Securities Regulatory Commission, was also dismissed from public office after the investigation.

The anti-corruption department in Beijing conducted the investigation, finding that Yang betrayed his ideals and beliefs, and accepted large amounts of money after using the position to seek profits for others.

Considering Ji, Zhang and Yang were also suspected of violating laws, their cases have been transferred to prosecutors for further investigation, the statements added.

On Friday, the anti-corruption department in Shanghai announced that Xu, a former disciplinary and supervisory inspector in Chongming, Shanghai, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of discipline and law.
