New steps to boost processing trade
The General Administration of Customs' 16 new reform measures to promote high-quality development of processing trade will further enhance the role of policy guidance in supporting the gradual transition of industries to the digital, intelligent or smart and green era in China, said an official on Tuesday. These measures, such as supporting the processing trade of strategic commodities in the main import areas of China's central, western and northeastern regions, will leverage the resource advantages and industrial characteristics of these regions, said Huang Lingli, deputy director of the GAC's commodity inspection department.
PBOC adds liquidity via reverse repos
China's central bank conducted 612 billion yuan ($85.26 billion) of seven-day reverse repos at an interest rate of 1.8 percent on Tuesday. The move aims to keep liquidity in the banking system stable at the end of the month, the People's Bank of China said in a statement.
Direct flight service links Xiamen, Doha
China's Xiamen Airlines on Tuesday launched a direct air route linking Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, with Qatar's capital of Doha using a Boeing 787 aircraft. The service offers a round-trip flight every Tuesday and Friday, shuttling between Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha. The outbound flight took off from Xiamen early Tuesday morning. The return flight is scheduled to leave Doha at 7:30 pm local time.
