Cross-sea bridges pillar of stability for high-speed rail
The multiple cross-sea bridges ensure stability of the Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou High-speed Railway, marking a step forward to intelligent development of rail traffic in China.
With a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour on the sea, the first train on the rail in Fujian province set off on Thursday morning.
It passed 84 bridges, some of which feature one of the most advanced technologies in bridge construction in the world, in its 277.4 kilometer run.
The Wulong River Bridge, 739 meters long, located among multiple bridges, with a space on each side as narrow as 50 meters and 95 meters, which meant the safety risk was high during construction, according to Gong Huizhong, a project manager of the rail from China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, the constructor of the bridge.
