Township improves governance to lift livelihoods

With 48 natural villages arranged through a community section management system, the local government of Linzi township is embracing more efficient governance, said Zhu Yuandong, Party secretary of the township in Linyi county of Shandong province.
Since the beginning of this year, Linzi has continuously improved its grassroots governance models, come up with more solutions for conflict resolution and supported local residents' pursuit of better livelihoods.
They have enhanced efforts in civil affair mediation to prevent potential issues that may lead to disputes. Currently, a frontline service team of 1,134, including Party members, volunteers and community section civil servants, has made more than 5,500 visits, during which 4,423 questionnaires were collected.
"The government recorded feedback on key issues to trace the whole process of problem-solving, with special focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly," said Xu Bin, a Linyi official.
The town has also organized lectures to enhance public legal awareness and helped address cases related to marriage and relationships, families and neighborhood disputes.
The town also encouraged mediation before and during litigation, forming a team of 135 to help resolve conflicts at the grassroots level.
