Shandong county enhances grassroots governance
Linyi county in Shandong province is improving its grassroots governance through innovative measures taken in community networks.
"The county's government arranged a total of 1,205 civil servants for community sections countywide and sought help from 15,562 community assistants to improve services for local residents," said Guo Qiang, a local government official. "These officials are the very foundation of grassroots social governance, and how to consolidate the foundation is what we need to continue to pay attention to."
The county has established a six-level community section management system that coordinates administration in the county, making the collection of information more streamlined and efficient.
To better address resident concerns, the local government launched several events to get closer to real opinions, arranging face-to-face talks and establishing WeChat groups.
If disputes, difficulties or other kinds of requests were heard during the process, the government will arrange immediate assistance to help resolve the issues.
So far, these efforts have helped the government resolve a total of 769 issues concerning social security, environmental protection, market regulation and other areas.
