Flood-ravaged schools in Hebei province have been making an all-around effort to accelerate post-disaster reconstruction, aiming to ensure that students can return to school as scheduled.

Baoding Wutan Center High School in Zhuozhou — one of the hardest-hit places in Hebei earlier this month — will resume classes on Friday, when more than 1,300 students and teachers will return as scheduled.

The school's buildings and playground were damaged, with two major power lines broken and the campus full of mud and trash after the floodwaters receded.
