To ensure that students can go back for classes on time, the school has organized teachers, students and parents to join in its restoration work, according to one of school official Wang Jichen.

The city is conducting safety assessments on 24 local schools that were affected by the flood, the local government said. All of its 45 schools will be able to resume classes by Sept 1, it said.

In neighboring Laishui county of Baoding, which was also flooded severely, all 79 kindergartens and primary schools were affected by the flood.

Professionals have been invited to assess the safety of 12 flooded school buildings, while two badly ruined schools will be removed and rebuilt, according to a report by Hebei Radio and Television Station.

About 130 students of the ruined schools will be transferred to a nearby school for the new semester until their own schools are ready.
