Russian scholar advocates for a 'concert of civilizations'
Alexander A. Dynkin, president of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, said at the Global Strategic Dialogue 2026 in Beijing on Wednesday that the multilayer interaction between Russia and China, two nations with distinct civilizational identities, has become a prototype for a new form of global cooperation.
Dynkin said the joint production of the visionary idea of the future "concert of civilizations" rather than Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" is worthy of the efforts of China and Russia.
Highlighting the existential challenges facing the world today, Dynkin stressed the urgent need to avoid crossing a point of no return that could lead to major conflict. He called for the development of a new world order framework that prioritizes peace and stability, emphasizing the role of the Global Governance Initiative in achieving this goal.
