Official missing during flood rescue confirmed dead

Zhang Zhizhao, a 35-year-old official who went missing during a flood rescue operation in Northeast China's Jilin province, has been confirmed dead on August 10.
The Shulan flood control and emergency response headquarters announced on Thursday that Zhang's body was discovered in the afternoon.
Zhang and his colleagues were conducting rescue work in the city's Kaiyuan and Jinma townships on August 3 when they went missing. Three other officials, including Shulan's vice-mayor Luo Xudong, were also confirmed dead earlier this week.
Shulan is one of the areas most severely impacted by the region's heavy rainfall, with a death toll of 15 in rain-related incidents.
Massive evacuation efforts are currently underway in Northeast China to relocate tens of thousands of people affected by the heavy rainfall and flooding, triggered by the residual impact of Typhoon Doksuri.
