Traffic accident in Xinjiang results in death of six

A minivan ran off the road to hit the rear of a heavy tractor that was parked on the side of the road on Friday morning, leading to six deaths in the minivan, according to the announcement from a local public security bureau of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The traffic accident occurred around 7:45 am in a section of Lianyungang-Horgos Expressway in Bortala Mongolian autonomous prefecture of Xinjiang.

Rescue forces from public security, firefighting and health were dispatched to the sites and investigation into the reason of the accident and follow-up work are underway, the prefecture public security bureau said.
