Countries gather to discuss gibbon protection

The Hainan gibbon is a rare species that can only be found in Bawangling National Nature Reserve in Changjiang county, western Hainan, which is part of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. Susan Cheyne, lecturer in biological anthropology at Oxford Brookes University, said there is a lot of work for the Global Gibbon Network to do, including tackling issues like illegal wildlife trade, and continue to seek and identify the needs of gibbon conservationists and remain proactive to finding solutions and bringing new partners into the network.
