China's State Council appoints, removes officials
BEIJING -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced on Tuesday the appointment and removal of officials.
Wang Zhijun and Wang Yonghong were both appointed deputy secretaries-general of the State Council.
Wang Gongcheng was named deputy head of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration.
Ding Xuedong was appointed vice chairperson of the National Council for Social Security Fund, and will no longer serve as deputy secretary-general of the State Council.
Peng Shujie and Li Wenzhang were both removed from their posts as deputy secretaries-general of the State Council.
Xiangli Bin will no longer serve as vice minister of science and technology.
Guo Shuqing was removed from the post of vice governor of the People's Bank of China.
Gu Yucai will no longer serve as deputy head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
