Former senior Jiangsu provincial legislator under probe

BEIJING -- A former senior legislator in East China's Jiangsu province, is under probe for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and laws.

Liu Handong, former member of the leading Party members group of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress and former vice chairman of the standing committee, is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
