Bridge cluster for high-speed railway in East China under construction

A new bridge cluster connecting high-speed railway tracks over Hangzhou Bay in East China began construction recently.
Designed by the China Railway Design Corp, the cluster of bridges will link high-speed railway tracks between Nantong, Jiangsu province, and Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
The 29.2-kilometer cluster will consist of six bridges. Upon completion, it will be the world's longest high-speed railway bridge cluster project, according to the CRDC, which added that the cluster is being built under world-class construction standards.
The 301-km Nantong-Ningbo High-Speed Railway, designed to carry trains with a top speed of 350-km per hour, is an important part of China's national high-speed railway network. It will further improve the network in the Yangtze River Delta region and boost socioeconomic development in the area, the CRDC said.
