Rescue teams dispatched after coal mine collapse

The Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched teams to support the rescue work of a coal mine collapse accident in Alshaa League, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The accident occurred around 1 pm of Wednesday, and caused two deaths and six injured so far. Fifty-three remain missing.

Wang Xiangxi, the minister of emergency management, rushed to the scene of the accident in the evening and required the rescue team to verify the number of people trapped and search the missing people with all their strength. He required the rescue teams and local authorities to strengthen the on-site risk monitoring to prevent secondary disasters and ensure a safe operation of the rescue work.

According to ministry's latest release, it has so far dispatched four rescue teams of 109 people equipped with professional tools to the scene of the accident. The local authorities also sent 238 firefighters, 41 fire trucks and six rescue dogs to join the rescue work.
