CHANGES IN PREVENTION RULES

China's transport ministry published a notice on Thursday, requiring the improvement of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in the transportation sector. Cross-regional travelers will no longer need to provide negative test results or their health code, or test upon arrival, according to the document. Transportation authorities at all levels should not arbitrarily suspend or restrict passenger services in non-high-risk areas, said the notice. The authorities are also required not to shut down expressway service areas, port terminals, railway stations, airports and postal service distribution centers without authorization on the grounds of pandemic prevention and control, according to the notice.

THEME PARK RESUMES

Shanghai Disneyland resumed operations on Thursday, marking Shanghai Disney Resort's return to full operation, according to a statement by Shanghai Disney Resort on Wednesday. Shanghai Disneyland has been temporarily closed since Nov 29 in line with the requirements of pandemic prevention and control. Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and the two resort hotels continued to operate normally during the period. The resort's pandemic control measures will be updated in accordance with the latest local government guidelines and guests should check and strictly follow them, it added.

ART FESTIVAL KICKS OFF

An art festival featuring a plethora of events opens on Saturday in the tourist city of Guilin in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, according to the organizers. The festival will put on 128 performances, including plays, Kunqu Opera, drama and monologues, with more than 70 free performances at seven outdoor venues against the backdrop of Guilin's scenic beauty. The nine-day event, themed "Wind moves clouds, unveiling a good show of nature", is being held for the first time in Guilin, and organizers plan to make it an annual affair.

GRAND OPENING

Pullman Hotels & Resorts, an Accor premium hospitality brand, announced the grand opening of Pullman Shenzhen North in Guangdong province. Sitting between the 46th and 58th floors of the landmark Shenzhen North Station Huide Tower, the new hotel features an avant-garde railway motif, inspired by the electric pulse of the Shenzhen Railway and the history of Pullman — a pioneer of first-class railway sleeping cars in the 19th century.
