At Guangzhou train station, health checks required

All railway stations in Guangzhou, Guangdong province have been operating normally, with no stations being closed or suspended, local railway company said on Wednesday.

Passengers leaving the city are required to present a negative result of a nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours before entering Guangzhou South Railway Station, according to the railway company.

In addition, they have to get a temperature check and present a green health code before entering the station, according to a notice issued by the Guangzhou Railway Group on Tuesday.

Passengers leaving for Beijing are also required to show a Beijing jiankangbao, or health kit, a mobile app used to check health conditions, and present negative results of a nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours again before boarding a train.

The railway company has suggested passengers not stay overnight at the station as temperatures dropped sharply early on Wednesday.

As part of their effort to contain the current outbreak of COVID-19, local authorities have started transferring people who live and work in high-risk areas of the city to their home destinations by train or chartered bus, after completing precautionary steps.
