Shaanxi governor appointed provincial Party chief
The governor of Shaanxi province, Zhao Yide, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Communist Party of China Shaanxi Provincial Committee by the CPC Central Committee, according to a report from Xinhua News Agency released on Sunday.
Liu Guozhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, will no longer hold posts as secretary, standing committee member and member of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee.
Chen Xi, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced the decision at a meeting attended by provincial cadres on Sunday.
Born in February 1965, Zhao comes from Wenling in Zhejiang province and began working in 1983.He joined the Party in 1985 and began to work for the Zhejiang Committee of the Communist Youth League of China in 1994.
He served as the deputy Party chief of Wenzhou, Zhejiang, from November 2006 to September 2011, and became a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee in 2012.
Zhao was appointed deputy Party chief of Shaanxi and elected as governor of the province in August 2020. He has overseen the work of the provincial government and was in charge of the provincial finance and audit departments.
In October, Zhao was elected a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
