Makeshift hospitals and quarantine centers should be managed in a standardized way to prevent cross transmission, a top official of Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, said.
Zhang Chaochao, the city's Party chief, made the remark during a meeting after he inspected local makeshift hospitals that were set up for the treatment of positive COVID-19 patients.
He said services for patients should be guaranteed, and medical workers should protect themselves from being infected.
The city reported 55 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 738 asymptomatic carriers on Wednesday, the fourth consecutive day with infections over 600, the Hebei Health Commission said on Thursday.
