UN voices concern over renewed fighting
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday voiced deep concern about reports of renewed fighting along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. Guterres called on all sides to take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions, exercise maximum restraint, and resolve any outstanding issues through dialogue and within existing formats. Guterres also expressed support for all ongoing mediation efforts in the region.

UAE ambassador resumes duties in Iran
The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Iran Saif Mohammed Al Zaabi, who has returned to Teheran six years after ties were downgraded, on Tuesday met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said. The decision for the UAE ambassador to resume his duties in Teheran was announced by the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in August, in a move "to contribute to further advancing bilateral relations".

Twitter shareholders endorse Musk's buyout
Twitter said on Tuesday that a preliminary count shows that shareholders endorsed Elon Musk's bid to buy the social media platform for $44 billion, even as he tries to break the contract, Agence France-Presse reported. The tally came during a shareholder meeting that lasted just minutes, with most of the votes having been cast online. Twitter has sued Musk to complete the deal, and a trial is set for October.
