HKMAO chief: Mainland will provide support for HK's pandemic battle

Xia Baolong, head of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, said Sunday the mainland will work closely with the Hong Kong special administrative region government in a bid to provide timely and necessary assistance to the city.
Chairing the fourth anti-pandemic coordination meeting in Shenzhen, Xia affirmed the anti-pandemic achievements made over the past few days after hearing reports from mainland medical teams and reports on logistics of anti-pandemic medical resources and fresh food and daily necessities.
Four coordination meetings were held in the past week in response to Hong Kong's dire pandemic situation.
On Sunday, the city logged 6,067 new COVID-19 infections.
Work relating to expediting the construction of a mobile hospital was also discussed during the meeting.
