Hosting the Winter Olympics amid a pandemic is challenging, but "we need to have that human connection and have athleticism”, says Judy Hoarfrost, a former member of the US table-tennis team who visited China at the age of 15 with the US table-tennis delegation in 1971.
She became a witness to Ping-Pong Diplomacy. The treasured experience made her deeply appreciate that sports exchange plays an extremely important role in society. Hoarfrost is excited that the Beijing Winter Olympics are going forward. She said "everybody" is looking forward to the Games, "not just the athletes".
