A heartbreaking footage showing a brain-dead baby being wheeled into surgery to donate her organs has left many moved, Xinhuanews Agency reported on Saturday.

Yaoyao (pseudonym), a 14-month-old girl from Quanzhou, Fujian province, was diagnosed as brain dead following an accident on Thursday. After learning that Yaoyao's life could not be saved, her parents made the difficult decision to donate her organs. They signed the consent form at the local Red Cross, choosing to let their baby girl's life continue in another way.

"When I came home after a busy day, my tiredness disappeared when I heard the sweet voice saying 'Daddy'," Yaoyao's father said.

At the operating room, her parents looked at Yaoyao's face, held her little hands gently and stroked her forehead as if their daughter was just sleeping.

According to the report, Yaoyao is the youngest organ donor so far in the province. Her liver and a pair of kidneys will bring hope to three children with organ failure.
