History will remember voters, not haters
Nathan Law Kwun-chung told The New York Times that “People do not want to vote for a rubber-stamp chamber”;
The Wall Street Journal almost openly called for people not to vote;
And Hong Kong Watch, an organization specializing in making trouble for Hong Kong, even called on voters to “see a film, climb the hill, or play mahjong” so as to skip it.
Yet the LegCo election of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region saw the number of voters exceed 1 million by 5:30pm, and with one hour of voting left, pass the 1.3 million mark.
The Hong Kong people have made their choice. Whoever they vote for, the moment they cast their vote in the ballot, they voiced their clear and unambiguous support to the improvement of the electoral system in Hong Kong.
Under such a system, whoever gets elected will serve the public good, instead of making trouble for the SAR and curbing its development.
At such a critical time, a look back at those badmouthing the election will find who they are. Nathan Law, an “activist” who brainwashed Hong Kong youngsters to drop out of school so he could go to Yale; Benedict Rogers, a UK politician famous for causing trouble everywhere in the world, while the Hong Kong Watch he serves is infamous for doing the same.
Hong Kong democracy will prosper better than before, while Nathan Law and other HK haters will be forgotten by history.
