A1: For the previous three years, Siemens had taken part in the CIIE to demonstrate our leading digital innovations. This year, we are once again showcasing our latest technologies and service solutions.

We see CIIE as a significant platform for opening-up and international cooperation. It adds new impetus for all players to work together, to accelerate innovation, and to jointly explore growth opportunities in China and worldwide.

Siemens has been in China for nearly 150 years. We look forward to forming stronger bonds with even more Chinese customers and partners through CIIE. Together we can drive digital transformation and sustainable development of industries in China.

A2: We believe CIIE has reflected the essence of China's new development philosophy – innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing. As a flagship exhibition of China, CIIE creates an open and attractive platform for driving global collaboration in terms of technology innovations and industrial chain development. These are exactly what we need to boost the world economic recovery.

A3: China has played a positive role in restoring the global economic vitality through efforts in the aspects of pandemic control, market openness, as well as global trade recovery.

At Siemens, we also benefit from a robust China economy. China is now our second-largest overseas market, an important R&D base, a source of talents, and also a pillar for our future development.

With innovative technologies and global experiences, we will continue to deeply integrate into China's new development pattern, create tangible values for our customers and partners, and ultimately contribute to the high-quality and sustainable development of the Chinese economy.

A4: Siemens is a technology company focusing on industry, infrastructure and transport. In those fields, we see great growth potentials from the China market. And we see enormous opportunities for in-depth cooperation with Chinese partners during the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

We combine technologies for the real and the digital worlds of our customers unlike any other company. As a digitalization leader, Siemens has the right technologies to support our customers in their transformation. Currently, our digital technologies have been successfully applied in China's manufacturing industry, infrastructures, transport and industrialization,  creating many prime examples of "digital industrialization" and "industrial digitalization".

A5: We see that amid all changes and uncertainties from global markets, China's determination to continuously open up has remained unchanged over the past years.

Greater market openness brings positive impact for sustainable economic and social development in China, and also helps revitalize the global economy, address climate change and improve the multilateral trading environment.

As a company that has taken roots in China for nearly 150 years, we have confidence in China's high level of openness and high-quality development, as always.

A6: This year marks the 20thanniversary of China's accession to the WTO. Over the past 20 years, China has made great contributions to upholding the multilateral trading system.

China's recent initiatives, such as releasing the Foreign Investment Law and shortening the negative lists on market access, have shown that the country is willing to share development opportunities with the world and achieve mutual benefits for all.

All those give us confidence to continue investing in China and developing the next-generation technologies here.

A7: China's reform and opening-up in the past four decades brought about an economic miracle. Today China has also committed itself to a higher level of opening up. The country has pledged consistent measures to enhance business environment, strengthen intellectual property protection, and expand market access for multinational companies.

We appreciate China's commitment. We do hope that China will continue to implement those measures that will benefit international cooperation and inject new energy into the sound development of global trade.

A8: China has been a strong advocate of trade liberalization and has taken substantial efforts to enhance global collaboration, for instance, with its commitment to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RECP) and its application to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). We believe China will continue to play a constructive role in building a more open and prosperous global economy.
