Several Beijing districts close entertainment venues
Movie theaters and other entertainment venues in three districts of Beijing have been temporarily closed, according to statements released by local district authorities over the weekend.
Entertainment venues such as the cinemas, so-called room escape games and internet cafes in the city's downtown Dongcheng district were closed on Sunday, while movie theaters in Changping district were to be closed starting on Monday, CCTV News reported on Sunday night.
Cinemas in Xicheng district were closed on Saturday afternoon, according to a statement by its culture and tourism bureau.
On the epidemic front, a notice by the Beijing Health Commission on Sunday warned citizens not to leave the capital unless necessary, and not traveling to medium- or high-risk areas where confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported.
The city recorded no locally transmitted cases on Sunday. It had registered 30 cases as of Sunday, including two asymptomatic carriers, in the latest round of the pandemic, the health commission said.
