ENHANCED PARTNERSHIP

Hospitality management group Accor and property developer Niban Group have signed a deal to launch a new Sofitel hotel in Xiangtan, Hunan province. Sofitel Xiangtan is located in the central business district, close to commercial and shopping areas. The move comes on the heels of two other cooperation projects of Sofitel and Novotel hotels in Zhangjiajie, Hunan between the two parties.

CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

The Ritz-Carlton Beijing Financial Street is offering a special package for enthusiasts of ancient Chinese culture. It includes a one-night stay in a luxury room, a breakfast buffet for two, a voucher worth 200 yuan ($30) that can be spent at any restaurant in the hotel, a historical costume dress-up service including hair styling, and a tour of the Summer Palace or the Forbidden City. Priced at 2,388 yuan, the package will give guests an unforgettable cultural experience, according to the hotel.

ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY

The Ritz-Carlton Shenzhen in Guangdong province has cooperated with high-end interior designer Meland to create an adventurous new package for children. From an indoor camp in a guest room, the children will travel to the adventure's destination, an urban entertainment park where Meland is situated. Along the way, the children will be immersed in adventurous tales and experiences, according to the hotel.

FLIGHTS SUSPENSION

China's civil aviation regulator has announced the suspension of a Xiamen Airlines flight and a China Southern Airlines flight after passengers tested positive for COVID-19. A total of eight passengers tested positive on Xiamen Airlines' Manila-Xiamen flight MF820 on Aug 13, and nine passengers tested positive on China Southern Airlines' Yangon-Guangzhou CZ3056 flight the following day. The two flights will be suspended for two weeks starting Aug 30, said the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Thursday.
