MSK Zilina leads Fortuna Liga with three consecutive victories

BRATISLAVA - With SK Slovan Bratislava's fixture against MFK Ruzomberok postponed, MSK Zilina grabbed the opportunity to top of Slovakia's Fortuna Liga table thanks to its third consecutive victory, defeating FK Pohronie 3-1.
MSK Zilina had a perfect start, scoring after two minutes when 18-year-old striker Timotej Jambor slotted home.
Zilina continued to pile on the pressure and produced several scoring chances but it took 67 minutes to stretch the lead thanks to Vahan Bichakhchyan's penalty. Six minutes later, Pohronie was down to ten men, and another six minutes later, Bichakhchyan scored his second of the match, before Pohronie scored a consolation goal in the final minutes.
On Monday, FC Spartak Trnava showed no remorse for the newly-promoted Liptovsky Mikulas, scoring twice in each half for a 4-0 win. The home team's new striker Kelvin Boateng led the scoring with two goals, ahead of the crucial second leg UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday.
Dunajska Streda lost 1-0 at home to Sered, whose defender Adam Morong's long-range effort flew past DAC keeper Martin Jedlicka for the game's only goal.
After a goalless first half against AS Trencin, MFK Zemplin Michalovce opened the scoring in the 50th minute when the Trencin goalkeeper misjudged a bouncing ball. Three minutes later, Trencin drew level with Reuben Yem's strike from a tight angle, and turned the match around in the 82nd minute when Juha Pirinen scored the winner with a header from a corner.
FK Senica managed to draw 1-1 at FC ViOn, who took the lead in the 27th minute from a penalty. In the 73rd minute, Senica defender Tomas Egert was sent off for his second yellow card, but the visitors nevertheless managed to tie the game ten minutes later. Enditem
