Senior political advisors meet to study Xi's speech at CPC centenary ceremony
BEIJING -- China's senior political advisors on Friday met to study an important speech by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the ceremony marking the centenary of the CPC on Thursday.
The study session held by the leading Party members group of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was presided over by Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary of its leading Party members group.
The session stressed unswerving adherence to overall Party leadership, urging efforts to give full play to the important role of the political advisory bodies in upholding and strengthening the Party's leadership over all work.
It called on CPPCC to turn the Party's propositions into the consensus of the general public through democratic procedures and effective work, and better employ the united front.
The meeting decided that the CPPCC National Committee carry out the second-stage Party history learning and education campaign.
