Messi leads Argentina squad for Copa America

BUENOS AIRES - Forwards Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Lautaro Martinez were among 28 players included in Argentina's squad for the Copa America in Brazil, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) said on Thursday.
Albiceleste manager Lionel Scaloni also named Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
But there was no place for Villarreal central defender Juan Foyth or Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos, who were dropped from the squad that drew with Chile and Colombia in World Cup qualifiers earlier this month.
Argentina will begin its Copa America campaign on Monday against Chile at Rio de Janeiro's Olympic stadium.
The Albiceleste are aiming to win their first major trophy since 1993, when they beat Mexico 2-1 in the Copa America final.
