A Living Room of Flora-2.0, an exhibition opening an international rose center in Pingyin, Shandong province, shows artworks that review the history of people growing and using roses in different ways, and examine the complications of the relationships between people and other creatures.

The exhibition was inspired by the rose planting tradition in Pingyin, a city with a thriving flower industry. It looks at the multiple roles of roses in the everyday lives of Chinese people, such as decorations and medicines, and the cultural implications in literary forms such as paintings and poems, as well as how the trade in roses connected ancient China and the rest of the world.
