Sogou Translate, China Daily app announce translation collaboration

Sogou Translate, an AI-powered portable translation service, has officially been opened to users of the China Daily app, as the two recently announced a cooperative effort to provide a better reading experience.

Users can tap English words in stories and content for instant Chinese translation on the app. Pronunciation and collocation can also be checked for easy understanding while tapping words or phrases on the phone.

A Chinese-English dictionary is also available to language learners for free, offering several phrases and translations.

The translator is designed to cater to the needs of the rapidly growing userbase of the app. Functions like topical word translations could also be useful for readers.

"The language barrier holds back my progress reading English news," a user named Kiki said. "With the bilingual dictionary embedded on the app, I now can read the news fluently and easily."
