1 killed, 7 trapped in coal mine gas outburst in Guizhou

GUIYANG -- One person was killed and seven others remain trapped underground following a coal and gas outburst in a coal mine in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Friday, local authorities said.

The accident happened at around 8:50 am at the Dongfeng Coal Mine in Jinsha county located in the city of Bijie. Rescue work is currently underway.
