Maonan people step out of poverty, isolation

High-speed railways and highways will soon connect the once secluded Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region with cities such as Nanning and Guiyang.

The Maonan people are among 28 smaller ethnic groups in China that escaped poverty by November. Check out the video to see how locals are stepping out of poverty and isolation.
