In a one-on-one interview with China Daily, Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration Matthew Cheung Kin-chung said "patriotism is the cement that binds everyone together" in creating a united Hong Kong legislature of one heart, one mind, and one purpose, with the improved electoral system.
Cheung made the remarks after discussion in the city became heated over the phrase "patriots administering Hong Kong", a key principle in the improvements proposed by the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
