Mexican health authorities on Monday began to vaccinate older adults with a Chinese COVID-19 vaccine.

Mexico's government designated the first shipment of a vaccine from Sinovac to arrive in Ecatepec, a city in central Mexico.

Early in the day, brigades of healthcare workers began to administer the vaccine to hundreds of residents aged 60 and over at a vaccination site.

On Tuesday, Mongolia began its inoculation drive with a vaccine from Chinese drugmaker Sinopharm.

The shipment of 300,000 doses, which was donated by China, arrived in Ulan Bator on Monday.

The donation was welcomed, with thanks expressed to China, at the capital's main airport by Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan and Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Chai Wenrui.

Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene became the first Mongolian to be vaccinated.
