Govt starts moving 3,000 prefabricated rooms to virus-hit Hebei's capital

Authorities are shipping thousands of prefabricated rooms to Shijiazhuang, capital of North China's Hebei province, as the city moves to battle a resurgence of COVID-19 outbreak. [Photo/Chinanews.com]

The cargo started departing from province's Tangshan city at 10 pm on Wednesday, and began arriving at 3 am on Thursday, it added, citing a truck driver.

The province added 81 local confirmed cases on Wednesday, of which 75 are in Shijiazhuang and six in Xingtai, driving the caseload to 463, according to the provincial health commission on Thursday.

The past day has also seen the addition of four asymptomatic carriers, three in Shijiazhuang and one in Xingtai. As of Wednesday, 195 asymptomatic carriers have been placed under medical observation, the commission said.
