Suspected poisoning leaves 3 dead in north China

TAIYUAN -- Three people have died and six are receiving treatment in hospital following a suspected poisoning incident in the city of Datong, in North China's Shanxi province, local authorities said Monday.
Twenty-eight others are under medical observation following the incident, which happened at a chemical plant in the early hours of Sunday, according to the municipal government.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway, and several people have been held for questioning.
