General care at home, room cleaning and grocery shopping are some of the job duties.

However, Xu is willing to provide more help. She cuts hair and sews clothing. To save money, she compares prices at different markets to get the best quality vegetables at the lowest price.

"Spending so many years with them, I totally understand how inconvenient their lives are, and I hope at least my service can make their lives easier," Xu said.

The elderly have treated Xu like their daughter. When Xu comes to a home, they will prepare a cup of tea and fresh fruit.

Li Guilan, another caregiver said, "Our children have their own families and work to take care of. Xiao Xu is even closer than our own children, and rarely says no."
