Livestreams showcase new dimensions in communication between Chile, China

To accompany its China International Import Expo campaign, a Chilean offline pop-up market opened on Oct 31 at Hema (Fresh Hippo). The Chilean ambassador to China, Luis Schmidt, not only worked with Chilean brands to deliver Chilean products "zero distance" to consumers, but also participated in the event in person. Exotic food enthusiasts also chimed in and received Chilean recipe books, as well as various Chilean-flavored snacks and recipes.
In recent years, Chilean products, like cherries, wine, seafood, honey, juice and other organic products, have become part of Chinese consumers’ daily lives. Chilean ambassador Schmidt was there when Hema signed an import order of 1 million boxes of Chilean cherries with representatives of Chilean enterprises, including 10 major cherry suppliers.
They reached an agreement for a total of approximately 280 million intended procurements. This also is Hema's largest procurement plan in South America this year.
