Guangxi signs agreements with sports enterprises
Authorities from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region signed six agreements with enterprises to foster sports industry development in the region at a meeting held in Shanghai on Monday.
The cooperation was between regional authorities and six companies, including Shanghai-based Shuhua Sports and Kailas Sports.
The projects, with a total investment of 15 billion yuan ($2.20 billion), will focus on sports industry development, investment promotion and industrial upgrading, international sailing sports and training, and the integrated development of national fitness and health in Guangxi.
In order to accelerate reform of the local sports industry, Guangxi will further develop major industrial chains in the fields of high-end sports manufacturing, smart sports, tourism, sports competitions and stadium services.
According to the authority, by 2025 the region has pledged to build over 100 sports complexes, 1,000 community fitness centers, and over 10,000 kilometers of trails. Additionally, the total scale of the industry in the region is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan by the same year.
