TAIPEI -- Taiwan police said Thursday they have detained 14 suspects of a telecom fraud ring during a recent raid in Nantou County of central Taiwan.
The ring cheated 97 persons on the Chinese mainland of about 3.1 million yuan (about $455,700) over the past two months, the police said.
The suspects have been handed over to the local prosecuting office and authorities will soon contact victims of the fraud on the mainland, the police said.
