DeChambeau wins US Open Golf Championship
WASHINGTON - Bryson DeChambeau won the 120th edition of the US Open Golf Championship held at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York on Sunday.
The win marks the first victory for DeChambeau at one of golf's major championships.
DeChambeau, who turned 27 this week, won the tournament by a comfortable margin of six strokes.
DeChambeau's final score of 274 made him the only golfer to finish the tournament with a score under par.
He shot two birdies, a bogey and an eagle in the final round.
Matthew Wolff of the United States came second at even par and South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen was third on 282.
The tournament, which was originally scheduled for June, was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic and served as the second major played this year.
