China has 566,000 public chargers for electric vehicles

BEIJING -- The number of electric vehicle chargers for public use in China stood at around 566,000 at the end of July, industry data showed.
In July, 7,834 new public chargers were added, according to the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance.
The total amount of electric vehicle charging facilities in China rose 27.6 percent to 1.34 million at the end of July.
China, the world's largest auto market, saw strong performance in the new energy vehicle sector in July, with production and sales surging 15.6 percent and 19.3 percent year on year, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed.
