Diversity emphasized in human resources services

China's human resources service sector will be guided to provide more diverse and targeted services as part of efforts to ease "unprecedented pressure" on employment this year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said on Friday.
Ensuring efficient job creation has been placed high on the government's agenda this year due to the COVID-19 epidemic, as the central leadership calls for increasing the role of market-based employment and adopting all possible measures to create new jobs.
According to a notice released by the ministry on Friday, human resources service providers are encouraged to blend online and offline services and offer more practical services, such as labor management, wage management and employee training for key industries.
They will also be guided to launch job fairs on campuses and communicate with people in rural areas and enterprises directly to obtain a more precise picture of demands and launch targeted services.
Services aimed at boosting flexible employment will also be supported, which will mainly benefit labor-intensive industries, such as catering, delivery and housekeeping businesses.
Entrepreneurship, training programs intended to improve skills of job seekers and interaction between impoverished areas and developed areas will also be enhanced, according to the ministry.
China's human resources service industry played an important role in stabilizing employment last year. As of the end of 2019, there were 39,600 human resources service institutions across the country, which helped 255 million people get employed or migrate across regions.
