China to support social organizations in poverty alleviation
BEIJING -- China's Ministry of Civil Affairs has issued a circular on providing financial support to social organizations to carry out projects of poverty alleviation.
According to the circular, social organizations are encouraged to bid for government-funded social service projects in impoverished regions of western China, or in Hubei, Jiangxi and Hunan provinces. In Hubei province, previously hard hit by the COVID-19, relevant projects mainly target epidemic prevention and control.
The projects to be funded include those for improving social service facilities in impoverished areas, care programs targeting children, the elderly and people with disabilities, and training sessions for social workers, according to the circular.
Applicants were asked to submit relevant materials before Aug 10, said the circular.
