Ecuador winger Castillo joins FC Juarez

MEXICO CITY - Ecuador international winger Eryc Castillo has joined FC Juarez from their Mexican rivals Tijuana, as the Liga MX prepares to end its coronavirus hiatus.
The 25-year-old, who made his international debut last year, arrives at Juarez on a permanent deal after completing a year-long loan at Santos Laguna.
Juarez confirmed the move in a brief social media post on Wednesday, without revealing the length of the contract.
The Liga MX Clausura season was canceled in May, two months after football was suspended in Mexico because of the global health crisis. Juarez were eighth in the 18-team standings, eight points behind leaders Cruz Azul, when the competition was aborted.
Liga MX officials announced last month that the Apertura tournament would begin on July 24, with matches to be played without fans until further notice.
