BYD new-energy vehicle sales slump

BEIJING - China's leading new-energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD saw its NEV sales tumble in the first five months of 2020, company data showed.

The firm sold 46,512 NEVs in the January-May period, down 60.94 percent from the same period last year.

In May alone, the number of NEVs sold by the firm stood at 11,325, down from 12,995 in April.

From January to May, BYD sold 124,903 vehicles in total, down 34.03 percent year-on-year.
