Ghana FA appoints Kotey as referees manager

ACCRA - The Ghana FA has appointed Alexander Kotey, a retired FIFA referee, as the federation's referees manager.
Kotey will head the refereeing department and assist the referees committee, implement decisions adopted by the department, implement programs to develop referees, according to guidelines approved by the referees committee, among others.
Kotey has worked as a referees instructor, assessor, and a match commissioner.
He is a FIFA - Futuro III technical trainee coach, referee assessor, and also a technical coach and assessor of the confederation of African Football (CAF).
Kotey will be offered a one-year renewable contract based on his performance.
The Ghana FA said it intends to roll out a comprehensive refereeing development program to recruit and train referee assessors, instructors and referees for Futsal, beach, women's and grassroots soccer.
